Metha  &  Axel Schmermund   In Germany, vaccination against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was approved on December 21st 2020 and the first patient treated on December 26th. On May 7th 2021, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) announced an official investigation of case reports of myopericarditis in temporal relation to COVID-19 vaccination [ 1 , 2 , 3 ], which was updated on June 11th [ 4 ]. Since then, we noted increasing requests from General Practitioners for urgent cardiologic consultation of patients with suspected myocarditis after COVID-19 vaccination. All patients were scheduled within the 2 following business days and underwent standardized cardiologic assessment including electrocardiography

The pathogenesis of MS involves T helper cells causing inflammation and eventual death of the oligodendrocytes. Etiologies for the development of MS include a combination of genetic, environmental, and immune factors. Vaccines have been proposed to increase the immune response and have rep

We report the first known case of anti-NMDAR encephalitis after SARS-CoV-2 immunization in a young female presenting with acute psychosis, highlighting a rare potential immunological complication of vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 that is currently being distributed worldw

Artemisia annua hot-water extracts show potent activity in vitro against Covid-19 variants including delta

Artemisia annua  hot-water extracts show potent activity  in vitro  against Covid-19 variants including delta M.S.   Nair ,  Y.   Huang ,  D.A.   Fidock ,  M.J.   Towler ,  P.J.   Weathers doi:  https://doi.org/10.1101/2021.09.08.459260 Abstract Ethnopharmacological relevance  For millennia in Southeast Asia,  Artemisia annua  L. was used to treat “fever”. This medicinal plant is effective against numerous infectious microbial and viral diseases and is used by many global communities as a source of artemisinin derivatives that are first-line drugs to treat malaria. Aim of the Study  The SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) global pandemic has killed millions and evolved numerous variants, with delta being the most transmissible to date and causing break-through infections of vaccinated individuals. We further queried the efficacy of  A. annua  cultivars against new variants. Materials and Methods  Using Vero E6 cells, we measured anti-SARS-CoV-2 activity of dried-leaf hot-water  A. annua  extracts of
